Here's a tiny, tiny sneak peak of what I'll be posting in a couple days. This was my final creature for my Art Center intensive, taking inspiration from the Geth of Mass Effect.

Skullery: An experiment in art looking back at its audience

Driven by pnuematics and McKibbens air muscles, and using a Microsoft Kinect as its 'eyes,' Skullery was a large technical challenge. The hope was to create a piece of art that would track its audience across the gallery. On the night of the exhibition, I was rewarded with viewers being surprised by, creeped out by, and ultimately delighted with Skullery's interaction with them.

For the purposes of developing some comic pages (some of the colleges I'm applying to wanted an example of sequential art), I took out an older character and dusted him off, plopping him into a new storyline. Here are the first two pages of that comic. Time willing, I'll finish the other four and add some shading and color.
