WIP of canyons

Image
I've been working on playing around with color for my portfolio. This is an environment drawing that I did with pen during California and then scanned in to color with Photoshop. It's not done yet, but I'm liking how it's coming out so far. Here's a screenshot of it open in Photoshop.

Playing Around

Unfinished sketch, toying around with a half-baked concept: A supermodel gains radioactive powers that start eating her up from the inside. It's probably post-apocalyptic.

Revisiting Core

Image
I'm toying around with the idea of revamping my old war-fae, Core... As characters go, he's a pretty interesting one, but his design is in a definite rut. Currently, this is what he looks like: I dreamt him up back in freshman year, and it kinda shows. While there are parts of the design that I do like--the multiple eyes, the lil' hands--he's just too... pretty. War's an ugly thing. It's chaotic and violent and messy. With that in mind, I started playing around with some new ideations for him: You'll notice hints of centipede and AK-47 in there. I'm hoping to get over my revulsion of the centipedes enough that I can look at them for more than a few seconds in order to get a better reference.  Stay tuned as I try to wrestle Core's design into submission.

Comic

For the purposes of developing some comic pages (some of the colleges I'm applying to wanted an example of sequential art), I took out an older character and dusted him off, plopping him into a new storyline. Here are the first two pages of that comic. Time willing, I'll finish the other four and add some shading and color.

Mass Effect expansion pack--Updated

Image
As of right now, here's the updated pages for the Mass Effect expansion pack. In the coming week or so, I intend to add on a few more environments and--I believe the word is keyframes?--to help give a better scope to the world of Camp Scrubby.

Addition to the expansion pack

I fiddled with the base's design and floorplan a little bit, and here's the result:
